Rotary Club of Western Forsyth History

The Rotary Club of Western Forsyth was organized by the Rotary Club of Clemmons. The Rotary Club of Clemmons is a breakfast club. In 2008, they decided they would organize a lunch club, the Rotary Club of Western Forsyth, to expand opportunities for citizens of Forsyth County to participate in Rotary. The club started meeting with 25 members, filed the proper paperwork to Rotary International, elected officers and  held their club charter night on August 12, 2008 at Bermuda Run Country Club. The newly formed Rotary Club of Western Forsyth was the first 100% Paul Harris newly chartered club in the world. Rotarians who donate $1000 or more to the international organization become Paul Harris Fellows, a select organization named after Paul Harris the founder of Rotary. No club has ever begun their organization as 100% Paul Harris Fellows. Rotary District Governor Charles Allen stated, "We are so proud of the new Rotary of Western Forsyth club and the fact that they have achieved something no other Rotary Club in the world has done."

In the years since the club was chartered, the Rotary Club has worked hard to maintain our status as a 100% Paul Harris Club. We have also worked with and supported more than 30 community organizations to make our community and world a better place to live. During the years, we have won both District and National awards for our service and fellowship.
